A laboratory where you can transform your ideas

Having a Vermouth, an amaro, or a liqueur produced under contract is not a shortcut.
It is a path made of choices: recipe, botanicals, bottle, cap, label, costs, time. Everything counts.

Every decision leaves a mark on the final product.
In the taste, of course, but also in its credibility, in the way it will be told and drunk.

That is why we designed a simple and honest project, the Open Lab:
a research and development path for those who want to create a well-made spirit, without rushing headlong or burning through unnecessary budget.

What the Open Lab really is

It is a way to turn an idea into a finished product that you can taste, understand, and refine.

The Open Lab is not a unique format, nor a mandatory path; it is a shared workspace that adapts to where you are right now.

Together we can:

- review and optimize an existing recipe, working on balance, cleanliness, and consistency

- produce a recipe you already have, respecting its identity and executing it the right way

- develop a recipe from scratch together, starting from an idea, a territory, a botanical, or even just a feeling

With this project, we develop a recipe that is yours alone.
You will know the ingredients, we will work together on the choices.
The only thing we don’t disclose are the technical details of the processes: they are part of our trade, our way of working.

1. Let's talk

It always starts with a chat. A free video call of about half an hour. You tell us what you have in mind, even if it is just a hunch.

We will talk about:

- what type of product you imagine

- what it should taste like

- if it needs to reflect a territory

- who it is designed for

- if there are botanicals you feel are essential

There is no need to arrive prepared; you just need to be honest about what is on your mind. We will figure out the rest together. If this process really convinces you, we ask for a one-time contribution of €100, which covers the preparation of samples for you.

2. Let's start mixing

If we decide to work together, we start by developing the recipe. We do several tests, cross-reference botanicals, and reason through the balances.
From all this work, we select two samples that we believe have sense and direction.

3. Time to taste, for real

When the samples are ready, you can come and taste them with us, or we can ship them to you for free.

If one of the two is already the right one, we go into production.

If, on the other hand, you feel something is still missing, we choose the sample closest to your vision and from there we develop two more variations.
In the vast majority of cases, at this point, the product takes shape.
If you want to push further, we can do it, for a small additional cost.

4. Let's produce

Once the recipe is defined, we begin production; our minimum batches are very low, about 100 bottles.

You can have your friends taste it, tell its story, take it around, use it, or sell it in your bar.

5. Bottle and label

For this first phase, we use a bottle we know well and always keep in stock, the one we bottle our products in:
700 ml Regina

The cap we will use will be a pourer cap, sealed with a heat-shrink capsule, to add elegance to your product.

For the label, you have two options:

- use one of our templates,

- or have it designed and printed by whoever you like

In the latter case, design and printing are at your expense.
If needed, we can put you in touch with people we already work with.

Why the bottle cannot be chosen (at the beginning)

We’ll say it straight: customizing the bottle at the start complicates things significantly and, above all, extends the timeline.

Suppliers require high minimums—around 800 bottles and 1500 caps; having a bottle in stock that we already use and that works allows us to work efficiently without wasting time.

When the project grows, we can talk about it again.

6. Pickup or shipping

When the product is ready, you can come pick it up at the lab or request shipping. For shipping, we ask for a contribution toward the costs.

Yes, but how much does it cost?

We know this is an important topic, and we take it seriously; there is no one-size-fits-all price because no two ideas are the same.

A vermouth, an amaro, or a liqueur are born from different choices:
more or less complex recipes, rare or common botanicals, maceration times, product type. All of this has an impact.

That is why the cost is defined only after the first free call, once we have truly understood what you want to do and how to do it well.

After the call, we will send you a clear and complete quote, which will always include:

- the initial consultation and discussion

- assistance throughout the entire process

- the development or optimization of the recipe

- the samples

- the first production

No hidden items, no surprises later.
Just a well-thought-out path, from idea to finished product.

And then?

If the product is well-received and starts to get around, you can continue with our bottles (batches of 140 units and up) or switch to a custom bottle, while respecting production minimums.
